Countryside Walks
- Waterhills, Caistor
This route is top of my list for family walks - it is accessible in different ways which allows for children of all walking abilities to access it freely. You can choose to begin from the bottom of the hill, where Brigg Road meets Canada Lane - this route provides brilliant opportunities for families to explore the wooded areas of the waterhills, catching sight of streams and animals in the surrounding farms. For those less able to navigate rocky and uneven terrain (including steep inclines!), you can begin this walk at the top of Caistor, with on-road parking and access via a gate near to The Rock Foundation, which leads to the top of the hills. This route into the waterhills is ideal for shorter sessions.
- Nettleton Top, Nettleton
This setting is great for horse lovers! Trudging past stables and corrals on trails frequently navigated by riders, you can explore the muddy paths searching for horseshoe-shaped footprints as you go, stopping to greet many four-legged observers on the way.
- Tealby-Walesby Circular
An intermediate hike with many accessible sections suitable for little legs, there's lots to see including extensive views, picturesque trails and if you're lucky, herds of deer! This trail can start or end in the beautiful village of Tealby, which has its own array of stunning scenery and points of interest.
- Croxby Pond
