How does this work?

01.

send your enquiry

Whenever you’re ready, just fill out the contact form. I’ll get back to you too as soon as possible so we can iron out the details of your session! If you can, try to include as much information as possible about your ideal session!

02.

Connect

Let's get to know each other! I'll learn what's meaningful to you so that we can tailor your experience to your individual family, and you'll learn so many things about me that you'll never actually need to know.

The day of

On the day of the shoot, we’ll meet up and get to the location of the session. We'll probably have a little bit of small talk, and then we'll get right into it! I'll do my best to appear invisible, but sometimes might direct you towards the good light, or show your children a cool rock I found.

04.

Gallery delivery

After we're done, I'll get to work editing the photos. I will aim to deliver the photos within 2 weeks, and you'll be free to download your gallery! Of course, feedback is always appreciated.

Don't see what you need? I also offer bespoke pricing - get in touch and we'll see what we can do!

FAQ

This is my first photoshoot and I’m kind of nervous.

Don't worry - I'm nervous too. But I want to stress: I don't want you to 'perform'. Being yourself is kind of the whole point! Stick close to your family and keep the interaction flowing and I promise, the photos will follow.

What should I wear?

Ultimately: whatever you want. You don't need matching outfits (unless that's the vibe you're going for!), but neutral colours that compliment each other will work perfectly in any environment you choose.

How many pictures will I receive?

Whichever session you choose will come with a minimum amount of digital images in your gallery and a set amount of printed images. These are included in the price (no hidden upsells!) and often there will be more than the minimum.

If you decide you'd like additional prints, I highly recommend ordering these through your gallery (though, you do have free will, but please note I can't take responsibility for how different your pictures may look if you order via Snapfish or similar).

Are you available outside of the Lincolnshire wolds?

Yes! I am happy to travel. There may be, however, a travel fee if your location is more than 35 miles outside of Market Rasen.

Do you do couples photography?

I do! While it's not my specialty, I have worked with couples, businesses, small weddings and even animals. Just note that my forté is interacting with children, so if you do get nervous, the calming method of choice might be a few rounds of Wind The Bobbin Up.

Can you recommend any locations or trails?

Yes! I'm fortunate enough to live in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds and (despite my best efforts to avoid it) am raising children that love the outdoors. While it's tiring, it puts me in a great position to not only scout the most beautiful locations and have practice runs, but also ensure they're suitable for different age groups and walking abilities. You can check out my 'Walks & Locations' page for inspiration!

Do you do posed photos?

I try to avoid interfering with families as much as possible so that I can maintain my philosophy around natural childhoods/families. That said, I know how important family photos where everybody is looking in the same direction are, so while your session will be mainly focused around candid portraiture, I like to end on a few 'staged' photos to ensure we've covered all bases. It's completely up to you if you'd like to include or omit them from your session!

What happens if it rains?

The ball is in your court! Torrential rain and cameras don't particularly mix, but if it's a case of a typical drizzly day, I don't think there's anything better than throwing the kids out in the rain and letting them go wild! That said, I do appreciate you want to feel like you're getting your money's worth, so if you'd rather reschedule I'm happy to do this once, or alternatively we can find an indoor location (home sessions are some of my favourites!).

Do I need to tidy up for a home session?

Nope! Home sessions are designed to freeze this stage of your life and family just as they are - there's no expectation for you to tidy up if life is normally pretty chaotic. However you feel comfortable when you're inviting me into your home is perfect.

Can we bring the dog(s)?

Yes. Please.

(As long as your chosen location permits them.)

My children can be a little bit... wild.

I hear this all the time - but what I also hear is 'I can't believe you managed to get these pictures!'. Having a background in Early Years education means I've encountered all kinds of children, and I've learned all kinds of tricks for keeping them engaged, piquing their interests and being patient while they just... be themselves.

I want your children to come to me exactly as they are - no pressure to tone themselves down or perform for the camera. What really matters is how I can work around their personalities to ensure the images you receive are a true reflection of who they are, without compromising on quality.

I need something a bit different - do you do bespoke pricing?

Yes! I can create individual pricing models if the packages above don't suit your needs. For example, if you need a few quick photos for a business profile, or you want to combine multiple sessions into one booking (maternity and newborn, for example) this can sometimes work out a little bit cheaper depending on your chosen session length and gallery size.

Why should I order prints on your site?

The short version: I use a specialised laboratory for printing.

The long version: When your photos are edited, a specific colour profile is applied to the image to ensure the colours are vibrant and true. Before sending your photos to the lab, they are calibrated specifically to that lab and the archival paper they use, which makes sure the colours look as good on paper as they do on your screen, and the prints retain their quality for years to come. When you use generic printing services, every part of the process meets one specific standard, which doesn't quite match up to the high-quality potential your photos have. Colours will often look dull and lacklustre, which, after investing a decent amount of money into your session, seems counterintuitive!
